Ukrainian frontline medics in Denmark

"I would like to feel alive again"

This is one of the expectations of our participants that we received at the start of the project.  And also among the expectations: rest, reboot, see the country and the world without war, gain knowledge and motivation to help in the future, sleep and improve health. And we are doing everything possible to ensure that our military medics really rest, mentally and physically. We save those who save the lives of others.

This time Repower took place in Denmark

Denmark has one of the highest quality of life in the world. It is known for its high level of social security, innovations in the field of green energy and sustainable development. About 50% of the country's electricity is produced with the help of wind power plants. This is a hometown of LEGO and Hygge lifestyle.

And once upon a time we were happy to expand the borders of our activities by organizing of recovery project for active frontline medics from Ukraine in Denmark.

Game changer for Repower Charitable Foundation

It is important for us to engage the international community to help Ukraine, so we are moving towards securing 100% funding from abroad. Back on May 2024, we didn’t plan Repower in Denmark, but after a meeting with the charitable organization Kolo Nordic, we found out that it is a great idea. They had found powerful partners Jyske Banks Almennyrige Fond, Novo Nordisk Foundation and Poul Due Jensen Foundation and fundraised enough to cover the participants’ accommodation and meals in Denmark!  Thanks to this partnership with Kolo Nordic, we have reached the level of 70% of the project budget funds from abroad. It means not only the money, but also a readiness of our foreign friends to stand with Ukraine as long as it is needed.

Diversity of therapies

Our project includes both professional doctors and those who until recently were engaged in completely different activities and have different background. Thus, it is difficult to find one activity that will 100% appeal to each of the hundreds of Repower participants. So we include completely different forms of therapies in the project: drawing workshop, hippotherapy, interaction with water sports, paracord weaving, curving wooden spoons with your own hands, musical singing practices and concerts and much more. All in order to find something that brings back to a colorful life.

Vibes of peaceful life

During R8 (Repower in Denmark) our participants were invited by the Mayor of Silkeborg, Helle Gade, to attend a local football league match. The atmosphere at the stadium was amazing. Alongside the local fans, we supported the Silkeborg team and felt a genuine sense of unity. When our presence was announced, the arena erupted with «Glory to Ukraine» chants.

Professional exchange meetings

Our first Danish project took place in July 2024, during the peak holiday season. But despite the day-offs, some Danish colleagues visited us. Together we held 3 effective workshops on the following topics:
- TCCC: turnstiles, conversion, training of medics;
- Blood transfusion, long evacuations, rescue strategies under drones;
- Chemical weapons, military-civilian cooperation.

Such meetings are useful for both parties, as the disussion of experience, individual cases or trends provides an opportunity to improve the work of the medical service of both countries.

WE HAVE INVITED TO OUR DANISH PROJECTS
